Pastor Bruce is a native of Western Washington and a graduate of Washington State University. Following graduation from WSU he attended seminary at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1996 and began pastoral ministry in The Methodist Church in Cornwall, England. After four years of circuit ministry in England Bruce, his wife Kendra and their daughter Brianna moved to Davenport, Washington where he served as a pastor for Davenport Edwall United Methodist Church. In July of 2003 Bruce was appointed by Bishop Elias Galvon to serve as the pastor of Longview United Methodist Church.

Bruce is the chair of the Igniting Ministry Team for the Pacific Northwest Conference and he serves on the Camping Board of Stewards. Additionally, he is a member of the Conference Council on Youth Ministry.
