Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are very excited that your Camper will be coming to Ocean Park “Spirit Adventure” camp this year! We have a lot of great stuff planned for camp. Our theme “Spirit Adventure” will teach us about the ways that God is always with us. We will hear the stories of Jonah, Ruth and Paul as they went on a variety of adventures

We are hoping to involve you in the camping experience in a new way this year. It is our intention to post pictures of our camp adventures on a special camp website. If you have any questions about the website please contact Bruce at (360) 425-4927.

Arrival Registration will begin on Sunday July 24th at 3:00 P.M. We would also very much like to invite all parents to our camp closing on Friday morning at 10:15. This closing rally is a great event I hope you can make it.

We will be having all sorts of adventures at camp this year so a variety of clothing is appropriate. Campers will need shoes for running and hiking as well as shoes for the beach. Please take care when choosing swimwear for the Beach. Modest swimsuits are best. Small group leaders may ask your camper to wear a T-Shirt with his/her swimsuit to help with our policy of modest swimwear. Of course sunscreen and bug spray are also good items to send with your camper. We also suggest two towels per camper as we will have lots of water activity in the afternoons in addition to the showers we hope your campers might take in the morning or evening. Many campers bring disposable cameras which are great for the beach but sometimes get confused with other camper’s stuff so please put names on cameras and other items. Please also send your child with one white T-Shirt for a craft activity.

We hope your child has a very blessed time at our camp. Months of prayers and planning go into each camp. I encourage you to send cards and notes to your camper, you will want to send some before your camper leaves for camp to insure that they arrive on time.

We do try our best to honor request for friends to be in the same cabin. However, this does not mean that we can always work it out for your camper to be in the same small group. We try to keep our small groups with equal numbers and I appreciate your understanding that we cannot always keep friends in the same cabin and small group. It is our experience that there is a great deal of time we are together as a whole camp and that friends that want to be together usually have more than enough time with each other.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to write an e-mail or call.

Grace or Peace,

Rev. Bruce Smith
